I'm Tessa, and I'm obsessed with the internet. It's where my boyfriend and I met, the place where I fell in love with horror movies, and where it's already driven us both insane. From horror compilations to ghost stories on Snapchat, I look to the internet to keep me sane, to find advice about life, and to scare the pants off my boyfriend. In early 2017, I decided to use the internet to scare the pants off myself, to try and understand the dark corners of the deep web and get the f*ck out of my life. I downloaded an app called Darknet Diaries, which seemed to be just the tool for the job. I downloaded a bunch of malware onto my phone, I logged into a deep web forum and started posting about the difficulties I was having with my brain. I took a couple of screenshots, showing the forum's moderator what I had been doing, and tried to explain it in simple terms. I even made a short video explaining how I had been tricked into downloading the malware, and why it was important to stay away from the deep web.
