If you're itching to lay your hands on the next Nioh game sooner rather than later, I have good news - Team Ninja has confirmed an open beta for the upcoming action RPG will launch in early November on PlayStation 4.
With that being said, we would also like to give you guys a sneak peek at the game by releasing an open beta demo for you to try out. This open beta will be available from November 1-10 and is downloadable from PlayStation Store. All players will be able to experience new elements such as our extensive character customization feature, our newest weapon- the Switchglaive, and so much more.
The development of Nioh 2 is progressing nicely. Team Ninja is even confident enough with the state of the game that it's announcing the action RPG's open beta release date. Sony's official PlayStation Twitter account made the announcement Sunday afternoon. Nioh 2 will be holding an open beta starting November 1 and ending on November 10. The open will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and free to all PS4 owners to download. Details about the open beta's content will be released in the weeks to come.
The original Nioh also had an open beta, as well as a free alpha. If the Nioh 2 beta is anything like the original game's it should offer a robust range of content to play. Nioh's beta included several stages, several weapons, and also unlocked free content for the full game upon its release. At the time, fans especially liked the dojo stage that allowed new players to go through a difficult training regiment. Watchful fans should hope that Nioh 2's beta will be similarly expansive and helpful.
This strategy worked exceptionally well. Nioh went from a little known game to a surprise hit in early 2017, largely due to word of mouth. Nioh went on to sell over 2.5 million copies worldwide. And now Nioh 2 looks to build off the original Nioh's success. Oddly enough, it looks like Nioh 2 will have to take a similar path. Despite the original game's success, there's surprisingly little hype for the sequel. Nioh 2 will be using an open beta and word of mouth to hopefully boost its numbers, as well.
Despite a planned launch window of early 2020 and a now announced open beta, relatively little is known about Nioh 2. The sequel's protagonist will be a customized character, unlike the original game. The new protagonist will also have a range of new abilities, including being able to turn into a demon themselves. It's also known that Nioh 2 will be a prequel, though it's unclear if that's just a portion of Nioh 2 or the entire game. Nioh 2 player should still expect to see some familiar faces.
Following the success of Nioh and the open beta that began back in November, players can finally enjoy Nioh 2 for PlayStation 4. This long-awaited prequel to the original game has plenty for fans to enjoy. In this action-RPG from Team Ninja, you play as a half-Yōkai mercenary named Hide who slays demons and other monsters based on Japanese folklore.
Talking about the combat, Nioh 2 takes inspiration from the original title. The protagonist will be able to use four different fighting techniques - Ninja, Samurai, Onmyo Magic Style, and a new Shifting Style. Regarding weapons, players will be able to use Dual Hatchets and a Switchglaive that features multiple configurations. The new mechanic was shown off in the closed and open beta for Nioh 2 in 2019.
Koei Tecmo and developer Team Ninja have announced that Nioh 2 will launch for PlayStation 4 on March 13, 2020. The game, which will have an open beta this November, currently has pre-orders available for the $59.99 standard and $79.99 Digital Deluxe editions.
The open beta test will run from November 1 to 10, which will be available as a free download via the PlayStation Store. Team Ninja also announced that players who have save data from the original Nioh on the same system will be able to use Nioh protagonist William in the open beta.
If you're looking for a challenging action RPG that doesn't pull its punches (or sword swings), keep an eye out for Nioh 2. Much like the first game, you'll play as a samurai who has to vanquish evil enemies that take the form of humans and demons alike. Koei Tecmo initially revealed the game at E3 2018 with a pretty slick cinematic trailer, followed by an open beta in November 2019.
Yasuda's announcement came mere days before the game's open beta, which allowed PlayStation 4 owners to test out Nioh 2 from Nov. 1-10. These players got a peek at some of the game's newest features, including the character customization system and the new Switchglaive weapon.
Luckily, after feedback from the Tokyo Game Show and the open beta, the developers fine-tuned the game. Whether these changes have produced an easier experience remains up for debate, as the creators continue to market Nioh 2 as incredibly difficult. Hopefully, the feedback at least resulted in a more balanced game. Only time will tell. 153554b96e
